Our Process

INSPIRATION PROCESS

The process of concept creation started with this seed idea: “I want to make a show about the universe” -specially what would the universe look like if it was created by a neurodiverse kid? From there, it expanded relating to topics of collective consciousness. We are all one, but at the same time we are all unique, which led to embracing a devised approach.

Even though the script was written by one person, it has many voices in it. Some of the dialogue and monologues in this show came from the performers themselves and dramaturges. Together we found compassion for each other and the space for multiple voices to be heard.

DEVISIED PROCESS

In rehearsals we embraced the unknown! We wanted to get inspired by what the performers canbring in. Not only in voice but also in movement and multiple skill sets that they may have. We all collaborated on croal and breath work, chorus work and everybody brought their own physical interpretation movements for their characters. We also explored the rhythm and musically of the play together! We had devised sessions where the performers would bring in their writings and ideas for the classroom scene. The devisers have a section where their character is highlighted and shares their writing and experiences
